Irene Dorothy Glomb, age 87, of West, passed away late Friday evening, September 25, 2015 at her residence. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki and Rev. Michael Ajewole as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. Irene was born May 7, 1928 in Tours, the daughter of Anton B. and Louise (Schorn) Straten. She attended schools in Tours and West. On April 6, 1948 she was united in marriage to Frank R. Glomb in Tours. Frank preceded her in death on November 14, 2001. Irene was a homemaker and Mother. She worked for the West Community Hospital as a Physical Therapy Assistant for 14 years before retiring in 1986. She also worked for Lorch Manufacturing and Wolf Manufacturing. She was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. She was also a 50 year member of St. Elizabeth's Society. Irene enjoyed quilting, baking cookies, making chicken salad, gardening and canning. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought very much joy and happiness to her life. Irene is also preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Willie Mae Mears, Mary Ann Kubacak and Evelyn Gerik. Survivors include her children, David Glomb and wife Johnie of West, Adele Ramirez and husband Ishmael of Waco, Richard Glomb and wife Debbie of Waco and Kenneth Glomb of West; a sister, Louise Podsednik; grandchildren, Kevin Glomb and wife Lindsey, Kristi Chudej and husband Dr. Eric, Katie Glomb, Amy Deal and husband Calvin V, and Joan Vohs and husband Justin; great grandchildren, Kyle and Chloe Chudej, Jackson and Emma Deal and Eli Vohs with two more on the way; a grand-dog, Mox; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Kevin Glomb, Justin Vohs, Calvin Deal V, Dr. Eric Chudej, Richard Glomb, David Glomb and Kenneth Glomb. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin's Cemetery or the charity of your choice.
