Hilma Hennig Macha

Hilma (Hennig) Macha, age 92, of West, passed away early Monday morning, March 22, 2010 at West Rest Haven in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Macha was born on January 6, 1918 in Mosheim, the daughter of Herman and Albertine (Buth) Hennig. She attended Seymour schools in Baylor County. On May 15, 1939, she was united in marriage to Louis Charles Macha in Penelope. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1990. Hilma was a homemaker, Mother and worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. After her retirement she became a cook for the Nuns at St. Mary's in West. She was a longtime and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 829 and K.J.Z.T. Society No. 11. Hilma enjoyed gardening, attending socials, dancing, and playing dominoes, especially "42". Her parents; five brothers, Otto Hennig, Herbert Hennig, Paul Hennig, Ernest Hennig, and Raymond Hennig; and five sisters, Hattie Nagle, Augusta Muesse, Elsie Muesse, Minnie Beesley, and Bertie Chapman; also preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Dennis R. Macha and wife Hattie of Burleson; two daughters, Katheryn Marek and husband Leon and Celestine "Sally" Macha. all of Waco; a sister, Mary Kocian of West; 7 grandchildren, Gregory Marek and wife Joyce, Gina Kresge and husband Allen, Ray Vybiral and wife Jennifer, Kris Kosted and husband Kurt, Denise Wales and husband Curtis, Doris Guice and husband Barry, and Dennis Macha Jr. and wife Darby; 23 great grandchildren; a great great grandson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
