Herman Murry

Herman Lyvon Murry, age 76, of West, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, November 5, 2017 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Herman was born June 9, 1941 in Williana, Lousiana, the son of Clyde Thomas and Mary Mertice (Sikes) Murry. He attended schools in Olla, Louisiana graduating in 1959. Herman served three years with the United States Army earning the Parachutist Badge and Good Conduct Medals. He worked many years on offshore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico and later worked in the new construction industry, traveling around the United States. Herman moved to West after retiring to be near family. He enjoyed reading, gardening and riding around on his golf cart. Herman is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leo Thomas Murry and Clyde Alfred Murry; and a sister, Cleo Louise Murry Danker. Survivors include two sons, Barry Murry and wife Rose of West and Shun Murry of Pineville, Louisiana; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
