Henry Pustejovsky, age 89, of Abbott, passed away early Saturday morning, December 14, 2013 at Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro. A rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West by Deacon Denver Crawley. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Rev. Ouseph Thekkumthala as celebrant. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery. Mr. Pustejovsky was born July 14, 1924 near Abbott, the son of John and Annie (Bezdek) Pustejovsky. He attended Abbott and St. Mary's Schools and graduated from Abbott High School in 1943. He was immediately inducted for the duration of World War II and served his country with the United States Navy aboard a Liberty Merchant Marine ship. During his military service, he began writing a girl from West, Willie Mae Matus and asked her to become his wife. After the war ended, they were united in marriage on September 10, 1946 in West. Farming was always in his heart, but he worked for Convair, International Paper Company and retired from Plantation Foods on his 65th birthday. He continued to farm, jokingly calling that his most expensive hobby until his mid 70's. Henry was a charter member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Before his death, he resided at Town Hall Estates with his wife of 67 years. Henry is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Christine Polansky; and two brothers, Frank Pustejovsky and Clement Pustejovsky. Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Willie Mae Pustejovsky of Abbott; two daughters, Rose Ann Kaska and husband Ron of Abbott and Monica Middlebrook and partner, Tamara Holcomb of Waco; two sons, Pat Pustejovsky and wife Linda of Houston and Billy Pustejovsky and wife Kathy of Abbott; two brothers, Johnnie Pustejovsky and wife Mary and Wesley Pustejovsky; three sisters-in-law, JoAnn Cepak and husband Joseph, Adele Matus and Rita Pustejovsky; a brother-in-law, Johnny Matus; eleven grandchildren, Ryan Kaska and wife Aprille, Denise Cervantez and husband Michael, Michelle Young and husband Mike, Ronda Kaska Ballew, Leann Filer and husband Larry Jr., Heather Brown and husband Chris, Craig Pustejovsky and wife Rebecca, Scott Pustejovsky and wife Becky, Roger Kaska and wife Julie, Maegan Abney and husband Neil and Dustin Middlebrook; twenty great-grandchildren; Kyndall and Michael Kaska, Erika and Fisher Cervantez, Tyler, Clayton, and Bradley Young, Ashley and Morgan Ballew, Trey Filer, Cailee and Natalie Brown, Hunter and Hayden Pustejovsky, Chris, Morgan and Taylor Hunter, Raiden Pustejovsky, Karli Kempson, and Taylor Smith; fourteen Godchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Ryan Kaska, Craig Pustejovsky, Scott Pustejovsky, Roger Kaska, Dustin Middlebrook, Ervin Middlebrook Jr., and Dennis Pustejovsky. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Youth Fund, Abbott Community Improvement Organization or the Charity of your choice.
