Henry "Buddy" Norton, age 88, of West, passed away early Friday morning, December 27, 2024 at William R. Courtney Texas State Veteran's Home in Temple.
A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2025 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West.
Henry was born February 27, 1936 in Clio, Alabama, the son of Lewie and Estelle (Sconyers) Norton. He was a 1954 graduate of Clio High School. On June 8, 1973, he married Janette Sass in Kansas City, Kansas, and together they shared many years of love and companionship. Henry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and later worked as an aircraft technician for Trans World Airlines for 34 years before retiring in 1999. A man of many passions, Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching college football, and was an amateur radio operator with HAM Radio. He was a strong believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and loved studying God's Word and attending church. Above all, Henry cherished spending time with his family, who brought him immense joy.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Virgil Norton; and sister, Sara Allen.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Janette Norton of West; his children, Brian Norton and wife Sherry of Jacksonville, Florida, Torrey Spradlin and husband Scott of Platte City, Missouri, and John Norton and wife, Sabrina of West; grandchildren, Kyla Spradlin, Wyatt Spradlin, Briana Norton, Bryant Norton, Michael Norton, Derek Norton, Brandon Norton, and Brett Norton; several great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to 50 For The Fallen in Henry's name.
