Henry Luedke

Henry Luedke, Jr., age 95, of Moody, passed away Saturday evening, November 30, 2024 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2024 at Bold Springs Cemetery in West, with David Snipes officiating. The family will receive visitors at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home.

Henry was born June 6, 1929 in Otto, the son of Henry and Meta (Newman) Luedke. On July 1, 1950 he was united in marriage to Bobbie Sparkman in Waco. Bobbie preceded him in death on November 7, 1990. Henry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, and he was a member of the National Rifle Association. He worked as a television technician for many years. After retiring, he embraced a life of farming and ranching, tending to his land and animals. Henry had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying activities like ranching, caring for his horses, and shooting guns. His legacy is one of service, hard work, and a deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors.

Henry is also preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Arnold Luedke, Theodore "Ted" Luedke, and William Luedke, Sr.

Survivors include his children, Gary Luedke and wife Carolyn of Penelope, Donna Massey of Poolville, Larry Luedke and wife Diane of Lacy Lakeview, Debra Gullion and husband James of Holland, and Rebecca Broadus and husband Keith of Bellmead; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; significant other, LuAnne Wright of Moody; sisters, Alberta Sparkman, Georgia McCool, and JoJorrine Sparkman of Waco; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Waco Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
