Henry J. Nors, Jr., age 73, of Ross, passed away Saturday morning January 1, 2005 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by JoAnne Nors. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery conducted by West VFW Post No 4819. Mr. Nors was born October 16, 1931 in Aquilla, the son of Henry John Nors, Sr. and Antonio Hejl Nors. He attended Alligator Creek School and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Donna King on August 20, 1960 in Abbott. Henry worked for General Tire and Rubber Company in the curing department for over 30 years before retiring in 1986. He also was the manager of Ross Water Supply Corp. for 7 years. Henry enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and listening to polka music. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4819, Ross Volunteer Fire Dept. for over 20 years, and West Bass Club. His brother, Joe Nors; three sisters, Josephine Nors, Rosie Kolar, and Marie Soukup all precede him in death. Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Ross; four sons, Larry Nors and his wife Robbie of Austin, Gary Nors and his wife Lydia and John Nors and his wife Denise, all of West, and Jimmy Nors and his wife Heidi of Waco; his daughter, Marsha Booth and her husband Randy of Robinson; his mother-in-law Chloe Matthews of Irving; three brothers, Emil Nors and Ernest Nors, both of West, and William Nors of Northcrest; four sisters, Henrietta Chudej, Marcella Kaska, and Evelyn Pratka, all of West, and Lillian Kissinger of Northcrest; thirteen grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Larry Nors, Gary Nors, Jimmy Nors, John Nors, Randy Booth, Shane Schwettmann, Garrett Nors, and Joey Nors. Memorials may be made to Ross Volunteer Fire Department.
