Helen Stacha Reifein

Helen (Macicek) Stacha Reifein, age 75, of Dallas, passed away late Monday afternoon, April 1, 2013 in Dallas. A rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dallas by Rev. Josef Vollmer-Konig. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Helen was born July 21, 1937 near West, the daughter of Frank and Martha (Hutyra) Macicek. She graduated from Abbott High School in 1955. She also attended the University of Texas in Dallas where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Education. On June 9, 1956, she was united in marriage to John H. Stacha. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1985. She married Will Reifein on July 18, 1987 in Dallas. Helen worked for Insurance Resources in Dallas as an executive assistant for over 15 years before her retirement in 2005. Helen was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dallas where she was a founding member of the Pre-School Mother's Club. She was also a member of St. Cecilia's Circle, Catholic Daughters of America in Dallas, and McLennan-Hill Czech Heritage Society of Texas. She enjoyed Moravian music, traveling to the Czech Republic, baking, playing the piano, spending time with her family and she especially loved to dance. Survivors include her husband, Will Reifein of Dallas; two daughters, Donna Stacha of Dallas and Sharon Cortez and husband Tony of Richardson; two step-sons, Floyd Reifein of Atlanta, GA and Thomas Reifein and wife Kimberly of Parker, CO; a step-daughter, Yolanda Launder and husband David of Verona, WI; two brothers, Marvin Macicek and wife Janelle of Richardson and Larry Macicek and wife Charla of Houston; a grandson, John Taylor Stacha; four step-grandchildren, Lindsay Reifein, Olivia Refein, Jennifer Launder, and Jonathon Launder; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and her faithful companion, "Toby". Pallbearers are John Taylor Stacha, Marc Hammett, Tony A. Cortez, Scott Macicek, Eric Macicek, Mark Macicek, David Macicek, and Mike Macicek. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the History of West Museum.
