Helen R. Klanika

Helen R. (Kolar) Klanika, age 71, of Mt. Calm, passed away Wednesday morning, July 13, 2005 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Isidore Rozycki officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Klanika was born on November 25, 1933 in Abbott, the daughter of Robert J. and Elsie (Sembera) Kolar. She attended schools in Abbott and graduated from Penelope High School in 1954. On January 19, 1957, she was united in marriage to Charles Frank Klanika in Tours. She was a homemaker and loved canning, gardening, working puzzles. She loved her grandchildren and was known to them as "Nanny". Survivors include her beloved husband of 48 years, Charles Klanika of Mt. Calm; three sons, Freddie Klanika of Elm Mott, Norman Klanika and wife Stephanie, and Gary D. Klanika, all of Leroy; three daughters, Barbara Klanika Whitman and husband Craig of Leroy, Tina Klanika and Melissa Porter and husband Darren, all of Mt. Calm; mother-in-law, Christine Zimmerhanzel of Leroy; one brother, Marvin Kolar and wife Mary of San Antonio; one sister, Irene Bailey and husband Bill of Mt. Calm; a brother-in-law, E. J. Seith of West; seven grandchildren and one on the way; two great-grandsons; a special niece, Loretta Cvikel; and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Richard Seith, Anthony Klanika, Marvin Bailey, John Kolar, Robert Joe Seith and Troy Klanika. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Klanika and Justin Klanika. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
