Helen M. Polasek, age 81, of West, passed away late Saturday night, November 15, 2008 at a Ft. Worth hospital. A rosary will be recited and memorial services held 3:00 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Anthony Odiong officiating. Mrs. Polasek was born November 26, 1926 in West, the daughter of Henry F. and Lena (Cinek) Dworacek. She attended schools in West. On October 1, 1963 she was united in marriage to Henry J. Polasek in West. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1981. Helen was a nurse's aide at West Rest Haven for many years and she also worked for Sulak's Caf. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 6 in Cottonwood. Helen enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. Her parents; a son, Donald Dworacek, Sr.; and two brothers, Edwin Dworacek and Ben Dworacek also preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Audrey Dworacek of Axtell; a grandson, Donald Dworacek, Jr. of Axtell; a sister, Olga Novotny of Abbott; three great grandsons, Daniel Lee Dworacek, Tyler Spence, and Buddy Spence; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
