Helen Marie Chambers

Helen Marie Chambers, age 89, of West, passed away early Friday morning, November 14, 2014 at Quality Care Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Helen was born July 2, 1925 in Paris, TX the daughter of Joe and Elizabeth (Rump) McCreary. She attended schools in Paris. On September 5, 1987 she was united in marriage to Cleatis Chambers in West. Cleatis preceded her in death on March 10, 2000. Helen was a seamstress and operated Helen's Custom Drapery for over 30 years before retiring in 2006. She previously worked for the Levi Strauss Companies in Dallas and San Jose, CA. Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church of West. She enjoyed dancing, volunteering at West Rest Haven and cooking. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Helen is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles Suggs; a brother, Joe; and sisters, Margie, Dottie and Emma Survivors include three sons, Jim Suggs and wife Beverly of Mariposa, CA, Don Suggs Sr. and wife Sharlene of Boyd and David Suggs of West; a daughter, Barbara Henexson and her husband Randy Sr. of Waco; a daughter-in-law, Judy Suggs of Whitney; step children, Fred Chambers and Alice, Mary Johnson and Ronnie, Linda Culp and Lois Baker and Richard; grandchildren, Donald Jr., Rebecca, Jeffrey, Joseph, Bill, Kathy, Cindy, Wayne, Shane, Kadell, Gabby, Lisa, Rhonda, Randy Jr., Toni and Marie; 34 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Randy Henexson Jr., Kadell Suggs, Wayne Suggs, Bill Suggs, Donald Suggs Jr., Jeffrey Suggs, Joseph Suggs and Shane Suggs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Rest Haven Disaster Relief Fund.
