Helen M. Stone

Helen M. "Fuzzy" Stone, age 61, of Pueblo, Colorado, formerly of Aquilla, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2008 in Colorado. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2008 at the Lebanon United Methodist Church near Aquilla, with Rev. David Nichols officiating, assisted by Rev. Donald S. Elrod. Burial will follow at the New Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 12 noon Friday until service time at the church. Mrs. Stone was born October 25, 1946 in Leavenworth, Kansas the daughter of Calvin and Ellen (Maybrey) Benton, Sr. She was a supervisor for the Martin Luther King Home for the disabled in Pueblo and a homestudy teacher. Helen was a faithful member of the Antioch Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed needle work, sewing, and traveling. Her parents and a brother, Ronald Lee Benton, all preceded her in death. Survivors include her beloved husband of 41 years Alton Stone, Sr. of Pueblo, Colorado; a son, Alton R. Stone, Jr. and wife Shiela; three brothers, Calvin Benton Jr. and wife Kathy, Charles S. Benton and wife Pam, and William J. Benton and wife Aliza; three sisters, Gloria J. Brown, Janet Wyckoff, and Susie Kronke and husband Gerald; three grandchildren, Chad, Amanda, and Crystal Stone; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
