Helen Lillian Cepak

November 18, 1927 — December 20, 2016

Helen Lillian Cepak, age 89, of Bellmead, passed away late Tuesday morning, December 20, 2016 at her daughter's residence in Elm Mott. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Albert Ruiz as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Helen was born November 18, 1927 near West, in the Cottonwood area, the daughter of John and Hattie (Neckar) Hanzlicek. She attended the old Cottonwood School. On September 23, 1952 she was united in marriage to Daniel A. Cepak in Penelope. Daniel preceded her in death on April 13, 2007. Helen worked in the cafeteria for the LaVega School District for 31 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead. She was also a member of the KJZT St. Ludmila Society #11 and the McLennan/Hill Czech Heritage Society. Helen enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Helen is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Johnny, George, Herman and Benny Hanzlicek; and a sister, Mary Johnson. Survivors include her children, Linda Halamik of Elm Mott and Danny Cepak and wife Karen of Robinson; brothers, Leo Hanzlicek and Edwin Hanzlicek; sisters, Estelle Marek and Hattie Hanzlicek; grandchildren, Mark Halamik, Brent Halamik and wife Lauren, Erik Halamik, Jon Halamik, Lindsey Williams and husband Rob, Courtney Contreras and husband Miguel and Zachary Cepak; great grandchildren, Boston, Haylee, Carina and Paige; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Mark Halamik, Brent Halamik, Erik Halamik, Jon Halamik, Zachary Cepak, Rob Williams and Miguel Contreras. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baylor Scott & White Hospice or the West Rest Haven Disaster Relief Fund.
