Helen Lenart

Helen Marie (Urbanovsky) Lenart, age 89, of Abbott, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, September 13, 2022 at West Rest Haven in West.

A Prayer Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek and Rev. John Boiko as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Helen was born September 10, 1933 in Abbott, the daughter of Vinc and Amalie (Ruzicka) Urbanovsky. She was a 1950 graduate of Abbott High School. On November 8, 1954 she was united in marriage to Bernard Lenart Sr. in Abbott. Bernard preceded her in death on December 7, 2005. Helen was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She was also a member of the KJT Society #31, KJZT St. Ludmila Society #11, and help to found the West High School Junior Historian Czech Dance Group. Helen was a homemaker, Mother, and worked for several local businesses including The Village Bakery, Nors Bakery,Wolf Manufacturing, Lorch Manufacturing, Abbott School, and West Community Hospital. Helen enjoyed cooking, sewing, canning, and gardening.

Helen is also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Alphonse Urbanovsky; and sisters, Marie Matula and Evelyn Freeburn.

Survivors include her children, Teresa Nors and husband Tom of West, Bernie Lenart of Abbott, Michael Lenart and wife Laurie of Abbott, John (Patti) Lenart and wife Patti of Lott, and James Lenart and special friend Vanessa Hagan of West; grandchildren, Thomas Nors Jr., Nick and Christy Nors, Teresa and Robert MacNabb, Amy and Brad Russell, Sara Lenart, Renee Ebeling, Lorie and D.L. Babb, Cally and John Bow, Jon-Erik and Britney Lenart, Rachel and Aaron McCurlie, and Veronica and Kevin Sell; 21 great grandchildren; special neighbors, Patrick Zatopek and Terry Kramolis; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are Cindy DuPuy, Anthony Lenart, Juli Ivie, Emanuel Mitchell, and her great grandchildren.
