Helen A. Klish, age 87, of West passed away late Monday morning, November 27, 2017, at her residence. A rosary will be recited 4:00 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with visitation to follow until 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 4, 2017, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant assisted by Deacon Ronnie Sykora. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Helen was born December 16, 1929 on the family farm near West, one of 13 children of Frank and Agnes (Gerik) Marak. She attended schools in the West area and on August 9, 1949, was united in marriage to Raymond L. Klish in Abbott. Raymond, her loving husband of 50 years, preceded her in death on May 8, 1999. Helen worked at Lorch Manufacturing Company in West and was a daycare provider for many years. She was a devout Catholic and a lifelong and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court Sacred Heart #829, ACTS Fellowship, KJZT Society #11, RVOS Marak Lodge and SPJST Lodge #54. Helen was famous for baking delicious buchtas and kolaches for family and friends. She enjoyed working out, exercising and weekly coffee visits with her friends. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and sewing for her family. Helen especially loved traveling and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her great joy. Helen is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Arthur Marak, Alfred Marak, Harry Marak, Frankie Marak and Stanley Marak; and sisters, Edith Sulak, Molly Vanzura, Evelyn Vrbas and Henrietta Snokhous. Survivors include her children, Edward Klish and wife Bernie of West, Michael Klish and wife Karen of Oklahoma City, OK, Sherry Zahirniak and husband Edward of West, Kim VanWinkle of West, Tim Klish and wife Sheri of Hewitt and Kathleen Eubanks and husband David of West; brothers, Bob Marak and wife Mary Ann and Raymond Marak and wife Janie; a sister, Rose Kubacak and husband Charlie; sisters-in-law, Agnes Marak and Sandra Marak; grandchildren, Jason Klish, Heather Parrish, Renee Lynch, Amber Zahirniak, Janna Lassetter, Zachary Zahirniak, Ashley Marek, Shane Klish, Megan Coleman, Kyle Klish, Dylan Klish, Evan Eubanks and Emeri Eubanks; great grandchildren, Kain Klish, Hunter Klish, Gavin Lynch, Landon Edwards, Grayson Lynch, Colton Parrish, Coy Klish, Kambri Marek, Ryker Parrish, Rylie Anne Lassetter, Adalynn Hill, Brynlee Zahirniak, Hayes Coleman, Kinsler Marek, Max Lassetter, Brooklyn Zahirniak and Houston Coleman; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and her close friend Chris Doskocil. Active pallbearers are Jason Klish, Zachary Zahirniak, Ashley Marek, Shane Klish, Megan Coleman, Kyle Klish, Dylan Klish and Evan Eubanks. Honorary pallbearers are Heather Parrish, Renee Lynch, Amber Zahirniak, Janna Lassetter, Emeri Eubanks, Kain Klish, Hunter Klish, Gavin Lynch, Landon Edwards, Grayson Lynch, Colton Parrish, Coy Klish, Kambri Marek, Ryker Parrish, Rylie Anne Lassetter, Adalynn Hill, Brynlee Zahirniak, Hayes Coleman, Kinsler Marek, Max Lassetter, Brooklyn Zahirniak, Houston Coleman and the Ladie's Senior Exercise Class of West. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CDA Court Sacred Heart #829, ACTS Fellowship or the charity of your choice.
