Helen Gummelt Foote, age 89, of Clifton, formerly of West, passed away late Saturday morning, December 27, 2014 at the Lutheran Sunset Home in Clifton. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in West, with Dr. Mike Milburn and Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. Helen was born June 2, 1925 in Hill County, the daughter of Othello S. and Dora (Harris) Bolton. On April 6, 1946 she was united in marriage to Wallace R. Gummelt in Waco. Wallace preceded her in death on October 17, 1982. Helen was then united in marriage to Coy C. Foote on July 6, 1985 in West. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of West and currently a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Clifton. Helen enjoyed dancing, playing dominoes and hosting family events. She especially loved taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Helen is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Othelle "Tex" Bolton and Harold Bolton; and sisters, Katherine Smallwood and Sally Wade. Survivors include her husband, Coy Foote of Clifton; two sons, Michael Gummelt and Herb Gummelt and wife Connie, all of Clifton; a daughter, Pat Talley and husband Allen of Waco; grandchildren, Traci, Melissa, Corissa, Jason, Aaron, Mindy, Georgia and Jessica ; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Gordon Bolton, Morgan Bolton, Michael Cathey, Christian Cathey, Allen Talley and Aaron Critzer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sunset Lutheran Nursing Home or to Sunset Lutheran Hospice.
