Helen Marie Brennan, age 84, of Dallas, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 18, 2024 at her residence in Dallas.

The family will receive visitors from 1:00 p.m. until service time, Friday, December 27, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano. A rosary will be recited 1:30 p.m. Friday at the church, by Deacon Mark Venincasa. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Friday at the church, with Rev. Bruce Bradley as celebrant. A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024 at St. Mary's Cemetery in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek officiating.

Helen Marie Burger, was born July 6, 1940 in Denton, to Louis Edward Burger and Isabell Anne (Hilz) Burger. She attended St. Thomas Catholic School, Pilot Point High School in Pilot Point, and Eastfield College in Mesquite. She married Lawrence C. "Larry" Brennan on August 10, 1963 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dallas. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She also had a fulfilling career in advertising, associated with companies such as Dr Pepper, Coca Cola, Schlitz Brewing Co., as well as several local companies. She left the corporate world to stay home with her children and take college courses. After her youngest went into junior high, Helen joined Adweek Magazine, an advertising trade publication, in 1980 and retired after 27 years in magazine publishing. She was a member of the Dallas Ad League, Richardson Woman’s Club, DDCCW, and All Saints Women’s Organization. She was an avid baseball fan. Above all, she was a proud Texan who loved God, Family, and her many Friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Isabell Burger; brother, George Burger; and a sister, Agnes Johnson. 

She is survived by her husband, Larry Brennan; children, Kimberly and husband Todd Radcliff, Steven and wife Mare’ Sims, and Julie and husband Greg Hayes; grandson, Daniel L. Hayes; granddaughters, Megan Hayes, and Madison, Blaine and Barrie Brennan; sisters, Mary and husband Bill Lantrip, and Lucille Dennie; a sister-in-law, Wanda Burger; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Active pallbearers are Bradley Burger, Mitchell Johnson, Jeff Hutyra, Joe Cannata, Doug Brennan and Tim Valenta. Honorary pallbearers are Mitch Payne, Gary Orsek, David Brennan, Darrin Brennan, Michael Brennan, Paul Hutyra, Cody Long, Mark Hammonds, John Hammonds, Charles Hammonds, Jim Casto, Jimmy Navarro, and Craig Tapscott.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crohn's Disease Research or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
