Mrs. Lane was born on November 17, 1924 in Zwolle, Louisiana, the eldest of eight children born to Tom and Lena (Michele) Procell. On May 17, 1999 she was united in marriage to Edmond Lane in Marlin. Edmond built Hazel her dream home and they enjoyed eight years together, despite her constant illness. Hazel was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and devoted her time to senior citizens by singing at area nursing homes. She is also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and four brothers. Survivors include her husband Edmond Lane of Groesbeck; a son, Crockett Rainer and wife Sharon of West; a daughter, Carolin Masters of Dallas; a brother, Joe Procell of AK; a granddaughter, Michelle Carr of The Woodlands; a great-granddaughter, Kaylyn Carr of The Woodlands; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers will be Aaron Gustafson, Richard Gustafson, Joey Dvoracek, Bimbo Hand, and John Steinke. The family would like to express a special thank you to Sharon Barnum for her constant care and nursing to Hazel.
