Hermina "Hattie" Hubik, age 100, of Hillsboro, formerly of Hubbard, passed away early Monday morning, March 6, 2006 at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. A rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Nativity B.V.M. in Penelope, with Msgr. Frank Miller as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near Penelope. Mrs. Hubik was born February 12, 1906 near Penelope, the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Navratilova) Dudik. As a child she attended school in Penelope. On October 12, 1927 she was united in marriage to Joe G. Hubik in Penelope. After 49 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on July 8, 1976. She was a housewife, homemaker, and helped her husband tend to the family farm. She enjoyed canning, cooking, sewing and was a "Loving Grandmother". Mrs. Hubik was a lifelong member of the Church of the Nativity B.V.M. in Penelope. She was also a member of the K.J.Z.T. Society No. 35, Ladies Altar Society, and a member of R.V.O.S. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Dorothy Matula; brothers, Joseph Dudik, Louis Dudik, Anton Dudik, Adolph Dudik, Henry Dudik, and Emil Dudik; and sisters, Albina Pavlica, Mary Lichnovsky, and Sophie Fillip. Survivors include a daughter, Georgia Hutyra and her husband Patrick of Hillsboro; one son, Ervin Hubik of Hubbard; one sister, Julia Machac of Hubbard; five grandchildren, Darlene Neill and husband Jimmy of Abbott, Patrick A. Hutyra of Kilgore, Cynthia Hudson and husband Kelly of Bedford, Susie Hejl and husband Willie of Abbott, and Toby Matula and wife Luann of Penelope; fourteen great-grandchildren, Christopher Neill, David Neill, Nicholas Neill and wife Carla, Stephanie Hutyra, Valerie Brooks and husband Max, Raynee Gilli and husband Brandon, Clay Hudson, Tammy Hudson, Joanie Pustejovsky and husband Andy, Laura Hejl, Stephen Hejl, Nathaniel Matula, Nicholas Matula and fianc Kaylee Kolar, and Natalie Matula; five great-great-grandchildren, Garrett Hutyra, Trinity Brooks, Lilly Brooks, Collin Neill, and Mason Matula; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are Memorials may be made to Church of the Nativity B.V.M. of Penelope Building Fund.
