Harry Lee Tobola, age 72, of West, passed away Wednesday morning, September 16, 2015 at his residence. Private memorial services will be held Monday, September 21, 2015 at St. Mary's Cemetery. Harry Lee was born April 21, 1943 in West, the son of Marie (Zahirniak) and Ernest J. "Toby" Tobola, Sr. He attended schools in West and was a 1961 graduate of West High School, where he enjoyed being a part of the Trojan Band. He then attended 4-C Business School in Waco and graduated in May of 1962 and Quadrant Business Systems in Waco and graduated in December of 2002. Harry Lee was the business manager for Smith Furniture Manufacturing Company in Waco for many years before retiring in 2006. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He was also a member of the SPJST Lodge #54 in West. Harry Lee enjoyed watching old movies, traveling, visiting the rest homes, and spending time with his family. He had a motto which will live on with him, "A little talk and smile goes a long way to those who are lonely." Harry Lee is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Betty Chudej and Patsy Jones. Survivors include a brother, Ernest J. "Toby" Tobola Jr. and wife Doris of West; a sister, Kathy Lozano and husband John of Penelope; a very special aunt, Judy Rosenauer and husband Richard; a special brother-in-law, Emmett Jones; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association or to the West Rest Haven Disaster Relief Fund.
