Harry L. Bezdek, age 82, of Abbott, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 25, 2006 at Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro. A rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, by Janice Kaluza. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cemetery, with Rev. Vincent Chacko, IMS officiating. Mr. Bezdek was born on June 18, 1924 in West, the son of John W. and Frances (Kallus) Bezdek. He attended schools in West. On May 24, 1948, he married Mary "Sis" Zapalac in West. He worked as a farmer and rancher for most of his life. He also worked as a mould changer for the General Tire and Rubber Company in Waco from 1952 until his retirement in 1986. Harry loved the outdoors and enjoyed his cows and dogs. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott and K.J.T. Society No. 31. Three brothers, Jim Bezdek, John Bezdek and Charles Bezdek; and six sisters, Alice Bezdek, Wilma Bezdek, Bessie Lichnovsky, Mary Bezdek, Helen Gresham and Rose Bezdek, all precede him in death. Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Sis Bezdek of Abbott; four sons, Michael Bezdek and wife Pat of Dallas, David Bezdek of Waco, Mark Bezdek of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Kevin Bezdek and friend Tammy Wiley of Waco; one daughter, Nancy Searcy of Venus; two sisters, Lillian Urbanovsky and husband Danny and Josephine Kubala, all of West; eight grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
