Harry James Kolar

Harry James Kolar, age 57, of Caldwell, formerly of West, passed away Thursday evening, August 18, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Caldwell. A rosary will be recited 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Mildred Dokupil and Helen Ehlers, followed by a brief family visitation. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cemetery near West with Rev. Vincent Chacko, IMS officiating. Mr. Kolar was born on May 6, 1948 in Hill County, the son of Anton J. and Rosie (Nors) Kolar. He graduated from St. Mary's School in West and West High School in 1966. In serving his country, he joined the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. He had been working for a rancher as a ranch hand for over twenty years. Harry loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, dominoes and all sports. He was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West where he was an altar server. Survivors include his two sons, Shawn Kolar of Troy and Shane Kolar and wife Lori of Rockdale; one daughter, Dawn Kolar of Ft. Worth; one brother, Bill Kolar and wife Shirley of Ross; five sisters, Doris Gerik and husband Alfons of Ross, Irene Degner and husband Morris Lee of Malone, Helen Ehlers and husband Earl of Houston, Betty Neill and husband Robert and Annette Owen and husband Michael, all of West; four grandchildren, Clay, Zachary, Kaleb and Lindsey; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Kevin Neill, Jason Neill, Chris Ashley and Keith Ashley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Parish Center.
