Gwen Peters

Gwen Peters, age 87, of West, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 4, 2015 at St. Catherine's Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory in Hillsboro, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. Gwen was born June 15, 1927 in Birome, the daughter of the late John W. and Lillie (Carradine) Bankston. She attended school in Birome and was a 1944 graduate of Patton Springs High School near Post. On July 27, 1946 she was united in marriage to Arnold J. Peters in Waco. Arnold preceded her in death on November 17, 1996. Gwen was a beautician in the Oak Cliff area for many years. She was a member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Whitney. Gwen enjoyed talking and visiting with everyone and was known by her family as "Aunt Annie". Survivors include a niece, JoAnn Lott; nephews, Rodney Bankston, Wesley Bankston and Malcolm Sulak; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Craig Lott, Chris Lott, Matt Dulock, Brent Bankston, Brad Bankston, Don Bankston, Brian Bankston, Lindsey Symank, Brittany Waters, Brandi Lott, Justin Ward, Clint Lott, Chad Symank, Brandon Waters, Dan Curtis Lott II, Dylan Lott and Tyler Schaffer.
