Gloria Detterman

Gloria Jean Detterman, age 82, of West, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025 at her residence.

A Memorial Service will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. The service can be viewed HERE.

Gloria was born May 23, 1942 in Waco, the daughter of Herbert and Helen (Vestal) Detterman. She was a 1960 graduate of Carroll High School in Corpus Christi and attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. Gloria attended many area churches including the Tokio Baptist Church, West Brethren Church, and First Baptist Church in West. She worked as an Executive Assistant to the commanding officers at the Naval Air Station and Reserve Base in Ft. Worth. She also worked for the First Baptist Church as a secretary to the pastor. Gloria enjoyed reading, baking, and sewing. She loved volunteering and dedicated many years of service as a Marine Corps wife.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Sherry Cox.

Survivors include a brother, Ron Detterman and wife Judy; a son, Kevin Fuller and wife Mary Ann; a son-in-law, Barry Cox; two nieces, Karen Ann Armstrong and husband Bruce and Stacy McCollum and husband Paul; and many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
