Glen Keel Sr., age 80, of Bellmead, passed away early Saturday morning, January 28, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Graveside services will be held 12 noon Wednesday at Prairie Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Glen was born February 2, 1936 in Delia, the son of John A. and Lessie Faye (Shilling) Keel. He attended school in Delia and LaVega Schools in Bellmead. Glen served his country with the United States Marine Corp from 1953 to 1956. On June 19, 2004 he was united in marriage to Laura Biggio Vance in Riesel. Glen was a truck driver for Safeway, Santa Fe Trails, Brown Express, A&R Freightline and Yellow Freight, all in the Dallas and Ft. Worth area, before retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Teamster Union Local #745 in Dallas. Glen enjoyed fishing, camping and deer hunting. He was known as being an avid outdoorsmen. Glen is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kent Edward Keel; a daughter, Bobbie Lois Keel; and a sister, Barbara Clemons. Survivors include his wife, Laura Keel of Bellmead; children, Elaine King and husband Sam of Elm Mott, Allen Keel Jr. of West and Daron Keel and wife Jennifer of Mont Belvieu; a sister, Elouise Smith and husband Al; grandchildren, Brendon Keel and wife Baylie, Zoe Keel, Jase Keel, Chance Keel, Trey Keel, Lindsey Wright and husband Jason, Sam King Jr., Joseph King and Kayla King; great grandchildren, Mila, Ava, Dreydan, Kaden, Ashley, C.J. and Anastasia; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Caleb Kubala, Sam King Jr., Brendon Keel, Jase Keel, Sam King Sr. and Tim Campos. Honorary pallbearers are Chance Keel, Kaden King, C.J. King and Dreydan Keel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
