Gladys (Rutledge) Sijansky, age 73, of West, formerly of Penelope, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 19, 2011 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at the National Cemetery near Penelope, with Rev. B. George officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mrs. Sijansky was born October 17, 1937 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas, the 2nd child of 13 born to Hubert and Dovie Mae (Clark) Rutledge. She attended schools in Arkansas. On June 19, 1970 she was united in marriage to Clyde Sijansky in Hillsboro. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1979. Gladys worked as a housekeeping supervisor for West Rest Haven for many years until retiring in 1996. She enjoyed going to the Cottonwood Store with her friends and singing with the Krueger Band. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Gladys is also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ricky Joe Rutledge; and two sisters, Linda Lynn and Lois Cook. Survivors include a son, Ronnie Sijansky and special friend, Scott Anderson of Waco; a daughter, Debbie Lednicky and her husband David of Penelope; three grandsons, Derek, Deven, and Dylan Lednicky; seven brothers, Gary Rutledge of Grandview, Hubert Rutledge of Rio Vista, Donnie Rutledge of Michigan, and Terry Rutledge, Roger Rutledge, Steve Rutledge, and Tommy Rutledge, all of Cleburne; two sisters, Betty Love of Grandview, and Ginnie Neal of Rio Vista; her best friend, Barbara Krueger; her grand dog, Sadie; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association or the Penelope Volunteer Fire Department.
