Aunt Ginger Kutscherousky, age 68, of West, passed away early Saturday morning, January 17, 2015 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. A rosary will be recited 5:00 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Ginger was born December 24, 1946 in Waco, the daughter of Ernest M. and Lucille (Bezdek) Kutscherousky. She attended St. Mary's School and was a 1966 graduate of West High School. She received a Licensed Vocational Nursing Degree from Hillsboro Hospital and became a Registered Nurse in 1981. Ginger worked for Nurses Unlimited, West Rest Haven, West Community Hospital and Jackson Health Care. She was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, RCIA Teacher, Confirmation Teacher, CCE Teacher and CYO Moderator. She was very active with the Catholic Daughter of America Court #829, Junior Catholic Daughters, KJZT Society #11, St. Anne Altar Society, the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, the 50/50 Club and PTC Choir. Ginger helped form the first ACTS retreat in the community and worked with the Teen ACTS Teams. She received numerous awards including the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award, St. Anne Award and the CDA's St. Regents Award. Ginger enjoyed traveling and reading. She will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by all her family and friends. Ginger is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Beth Kutscherousky; a brother, Charles Kutscherousky; and her dog, Cinnamon. Survivors include a sister, Sue Snider and husband Ken of Meadowlakes; a brother, Ernest Kutscherousky and wife Sharon of West; nieces, Savannah, Suzanna and Charley; nephews, Kelly, Kenny and Bo and his wife Keelee; great nieces and nephews, Melissa, Makenna, Brooklyn, Jon and Zee; great great-nephews, Braxton and Colt; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are David Scott, Terry Timmons, Alvin Soukup, Dennis Hovde, Tommy Carter, Ernie Pustejovsky, Tommy Kutscherousky Jr. and Don Urbanovsky. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West ACTS, St. Mary's School Endowment Fund, or the West Rest Haven Disaster Relief Fund.
