Gerald J. Hendricks

Gerald J Hendricks, age 77, of Pipe Creek, TX passed away late Wednesday night, August 3, 2011 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the West Brethren Cemetery with Rev. Mike Harkrider officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Dyess Air Force Base Honor Guard and West V.F.W. Post No. 4819. The family will receive visitors from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, TX. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Boerne, TX. Mr. Hendricks was born March 23, 1934 in Smackover, AR the son of Gerald J. and Jewel (Gilliam) Hendricks. He attended schools in Fort Smith, AR and graduated from Oklahoma University. On June 8, 1957 he was united in marriage to Pauline Blaha in West. Gerald served his country with the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserves for over 13 years and was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain. He retired from C.W. Lake and Associates in Kenedy, TX as a Professional Petroleum Land Man in June of 2011. Gerald was a member of the First Baptist Church in Boerne. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, landscaping, gardening, fishing and playing golf. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Tina Grenier. Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Pauline (Blaha) Hendricks (daughter of the late Ernest and Leona Blaha) of Pipe Creek; two daughters, Vicki Tilley and husband David of Lafayette, LA and Beverly Kaemmerling and husband Edward of Rosenburg; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Christopher, and Brandon Tilley and Obadiah, Micah, Rebekah and Katherine Kaemmerling; three nieces and a nephew; and many other relatives and friends.
