Gerald F. "Jerry" Wilder, age 64, of West, passed away Wednesday evening, December 26, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Jerry was born May 15, 1948 in Rochester, New York, the son of George and Algitha (Chadil) Wilder. He attended East High School in Rochester. On October 7, 1966 he was united in marriage to Alice Burns in Webster, New York. Jerry served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Central Freight Lines and was a machinist for Huck Manufacturing for over 20 years until his retirement in 2009. He was a member of the American Legion Post #478. Jerry enjoyed watching Nascar, camping, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry Vaness; a sister, Carol Doss; and his mother-in-law, Bernice White. Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Alice Wilder of West; two sons, Larry Wilder and special friend Tamara of Justin and Scotti Wilder of West; two daughters, Tracy Norman and husband Ron of West and Jeanie Miller and husband Mike of Syracuse, Kansas; a brother, James Wilder and wife Carol, two sisters, Doris Lehrman and husbnd Everett and Betty Klock; nine grandchildren, Malia, Ryan, Lauren, Harlie, Levi, Baylie, Scott, Lance, and Kacey; three great-grandchildren, Hayley, Ainsley, and Madison; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Mike Miller, Bill Warren Sr., Mike Wilder, Shawn Wilder, Terry Leathers, Richard Bowen, Ron Norman and Lance Miller. Honorary pallbearers are his afternoon Tiger Stop buddies. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Hospice.
