Georgia Poteet Kruger, age 85, of West, passed away Friday afternoon, June 3, 2005 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with the Rev. Michael Green officiating. Burial will follow at Walling Cemetery near Malone. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Kruger was born on May 16, 1920 in Aquilla, the daughter of William and Estelle (Williams) Poteet. She attended schools in Aquilla and West. On March 16, 1948, she was united in marriage to Delton "Blackie" Kruger in Waco. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1992. They owned and operated the Tokio Store for twenty-eight years until her retirement in 1985. She loved to shop, crochet and sew. Georgia also enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish. She will be greatly missed by her family. Two brothers, Travis Poteet and Odell Poteet, also precede her in death. Survivors include two sons, David Lee Kirkpatrick and wife Joyce of Houston and Charles Kirkpatrick and wife Deborah of West; two daughters, Alene Barnett and husband Lonnie of Hubbard and Frances Jackson and husband Dan of Caldwell, Idaho; one brother, William "Billy" Poteet and wife Virginia of Ovilla; four sisters, Helen Stepp and husband Cotton and Bobbie Beck and husband Don and Johnnie Doty, all of Hubbard, and Jimmie Smith and husband Jim of Thornton; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers are Floyd Marcott Jr., Ronald Marcott, Ricky Marcott, Delton Marcott, Star Marcott, Tristan Marcott and Kyle Wilson. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
