George Nesrsta, age 74, of Abbott, passed away late Tuesday morning, March 4, 2014 at Providence Health Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Rev. Stephen Nesrsta and Rev. Ouseph Thekkumthala as celebrants. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home. George was born November 30, 1939 in Ross, the son of Adolph and Josephine (Sulc) Nesrsta. He was a graduate of Abbott High School. George worked in maintenance for Fleetwood Homes and the Copper Plant, both in Hillsboro. He also worked for Rangaire and Burlington Mills in West and the Abbott Independent School District until his retirement in 2010. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. George enjoyed listening to music. He loved to watch trains and spending time with his niece and nephews. George is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edwin "Ed" Nesrsta. Survivors include three nephews, Larry Nesrsta and wife Joyce and Edward Nesrsta, all of Hewitt and Rev. Stephen Nesrsta of Corn Hill; a niece, Evelyn Petter of West; a sister-in-law, Doris Nesrsta; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Ben Conditt, Brian Petter, Ryan Kaska, Roger Kaska, Edward Nesrsta and Larry Nesrsta. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, the Czech Seminarian Fund, or the Abbott Volunteer Fire Department.
