George A. Kaska, Jr.

George A. Kaska, Jr., age 56, of Abbott, passed away late Tuesday evening, June 16, 2015 at his residence. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Rev. Stephen Nesrsta and Rev. Ouseph Thekkumthala as celebrants, assisted by Deacon Denver Crawley. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. George was born February 4, 1959 in Ft. Worth, the son of Anna (Hajek) and George A. Kaska Sr. He attended schools in Abbott and was a 1978 graduate of Abbott High School. On July 6, 1991 he was united in marriage to Mairi Boley in Abbott. George was a rancher and operated the family farm in Abbott. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, the Knights of Columbus Council #2305 and the K.J.T. Society #107. George enjoyed hunting, fishing and was known as an excellent cook and avid Texas A&M Aggie fan. He especially loved spending time with his family, friends and his dog, Murphy. George is preceded in death by his father, George A. Kaska Sr. and his mother-in-law, Jane Boley. Survivors include his beloved wife, Mairi Kaska; his mother, Anna Kaska; a son, Kyle Kaska; a daughter, Natalie Kaska, all of Abbott; a brother, Richard A. Kaska and wife Wendy; sisters, Louise Sullins and husband Rick, Dolores Tufts and husband Barry and Chris Kocian and husband Gus; father-in-law, Dr. Robert Boley; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Nolan Kaska, Kevin Kocian, Michael Kocian, Clay Snokhous, Colton Snokhous and Matthew Tufts. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Six on Six Colorectal Cancer Research Benefit in Abbott or to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
