Eugene M. "Gene" Roznos Jr., age 59, of West, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 30, 2021 at his residence in West surrounded by his family. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. LIVE STREAM of the service will be provided. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing are encouraged at all services. Gene was born March 18, 1962 in Waco, the son of Eugene and Jeanne (Wolf) Roznos. He attended schools in Arlington and was a 1980 graduate of Sam Houston High School in Arlington. On December 31, 2017 he was united in marriage to Cindy Korenek in West. Gene was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He was also a member of Knight of Columbus Council #2305, the 4th Degree Knights Msgr. George Doskocil Assembly #23914 and the KJT Society #31. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 32 years before retiring in 2018. Gene enjoyed golfing, sitting around the table of knowledge, fishing, watching westerns, playing fantasy football, visiting with his many friends. He loved coaching his girls softball teams and was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers. Gene is preceded in death by his sister, Carla Lathern. Survivors include his beloved wife of 3 years, Cindy Roznos of West; parents, Jeanne and Eugene Roznos Sr. of West; his daughters, Amanda Roznos, Alyssa Roznos and Rebecca Roznos, all of West; his siblings, Donna Hykel and husband Larry, Susan Matus and partner Pat Mynar, Linda Henry and husband Bill, Steven Roznos and wife Cathy, and Kevin Roznos and wife Tamara; brother-in-law, Gary Lathern; the mother of his children, Michelle Hague and husband Joe; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Edwin Prnka, Thomas Wolf, PeeWee Adamson, Ron Norman, Hayes Rydel, Dave Hinson, Mark Kundysek, Steve Rejcek, and Damon Inman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ALS Association.
