Gary Wayne Klein

Gary Wayne Klein, age 77, of Waco, passed away late Saturday morning, March 9, 2024 at West Rest Haven in West.

A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Hewitt Community Church in Hewitt.

Gary was born July 24, 1946 in Waco, the son of George and Norma (Gilliam) Klein. He was 1964 graduate of University High School  in Waco and 1971 graduate of Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, with a bachelors degree in Health and Physical Education. On November 29, 1968 he was united in marriage to Donna Loftis in Waco. Gary proudly served his country Marine Corp Reserves stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. Gary was a member of Hewitt Community Church. He was a teacher for Brookhaven Youth Ranch for many years. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, gardening and working in the yard.  He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Gary is also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judy Manes.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Donna Klein of Waco; children, J.J.  King and husband Michael of West, Elise Bodenbach and husband Michael of Salem, WI, April Karlin of Waco, and Stefan Klein of Waco; his grandchildren, Hallie King, Mikayla Battles and husband Dominique, Lorelei Bodenbach, Veda Bodenbach, Xander Bodenbach, Dusten Hurt-Klein, and Tori Hurt-Klein; two sisters, Pat Gwin and husband Ricky and Joyce Smith and husband Paul; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
