Gary Lynn Gehrels

Gary Lynn Gehrels, age 59, of Mt. Calm, passed away June 3, 2010 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at White Rock Cemetery near Ross, with Rev. John Lawrence officiating. Gary was born May 26, 1951 in Waco, the son of Alford R. and Laverta (Grier) Gehrels. He attended schools in Penelope and Elm Mott before graduating from Connally High School. Gary worked as a janitor for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Waco for over 25 years before retiring in 1995. He enjoyed watching television and working word search puzzles. Gary especially loved spending time with his family. Survivors include a sister, Jeanie Hawthorne and husband Gene of Mt. Calm; two nieces, Melinda Lednicky and husband Patrick of Leroy and Stephanie Sinkule and husband Darren of Abbott; a nephew, Brandon Hawthorne and wife Debbie of Mt. Calm; great nieces and nephews, Kari Jo Lednicky, Kyle and Cory Sinkule and Sidney Holland; and many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the White Rock Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 505, Elm Mott, TX 76640.
