Freddie Machac

Freddie George Machac, age 87, of Hubbard, passed away late Wednesday evening, August 1, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August, 4, 2018 at the Church of the Nativity BVM in Penelope, with Rev. Joe Keating as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near Penelope. Freddie was born January 19, 1931 in West, the son of George J. and Julia (Dudik) Machac. He attended schools in Cottonwood and Malone. On November 19, 1951 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Vochoska in West. Freddie was a farmer for all his life until retiring in 1996. He was also a carpenter and worked at the Penelope Co-op Gin. Freddie was a faithful member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Penelope. He was also a member of the Farmers Co-op Board of Directors, KJT Society #50 in Penelope, SPJST Lodge #6 in Cottonwood, Knights of Columbus Council #2305 in West, and the McLennan/Hill Czech Heritage Society. He served as a trustee with the Malone ISD and on the FHA Board. Freddie enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, listening to Polka music, working hard, playing Taroky and weekly phone visits with his brother "Sonny". He loved to travel, especially to the Czech Republic. Freddie is preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Ray Barton Jr.; a great granddaughter, Hailey Harding; and his brother, Sonny. Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Dorothy Machac of Hubbard; his children, Kenneth Machac and wife Judy of Bynum, Carolyn Kubacak and husband Anthony of West, Sandra Barton of West, Thomas Machac and wife Jan of Clifton, Jimmy Machac and Rhonda of West, Trish Webre and husband Tommy of West, and Richard Machac and wife Farrah of Abbott; his sisters, Evelyn Marek, Margie Patak and Betty Svrcek; 22 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and four others on the way; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Scott Webre, James Webre, Jason Barton, Matthew Machac, David Machac, Paul Machac and Tyler Machac. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hubbard Volunteer Fire Department. The family would like to give special thanks to Rev. Joe Keating, to his caregivers, Margaritta Alford, Brenda Hykel and Rhonda Machac and to Gentle Transitions Hospice Team for their loving care to our father and family.
