Frankie Holub, age 77, of Penelope, passed away late Tuesday morning, December 13, 2016 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Church of the Nativity, B.V.M. in Penelope, with Rev. Joe Keating as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near Penelope. Frankie was born June 3, 1939 in Penelope, the son of Edward and Frances (Mensik) Holub. He was a 1957 graduate of Penelope High School. On September 29, 1961, he was united in marriage to Shirley Huse in Penelope. Frankie was a conservation contractor, farmer, and a private pilot. He worked for many farmers and ranchers, making many friends along the way. He was a member of the Church of the Nativity B.V.M. in Penelope. Frankie enjoyed flying his airplane, being outdoors, doing yard work and was known as an excellent mechanic. He especially loved spending time with his family. Frankie is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill Holub, John Holub and Jerry Holub and a sister, Edith Nors. Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Shirley Holub of Penelope; sons, David Holub of Penelope, Randy Holub of Arlington and Andy Holub and wife Erin of Phillips, WI; a brother, Henry Holub and wife Carolyn; sisters, Frances Soukup and husband Steve and Martha Hosek and husband Gene; grandchildren, Taylor and Caitlin; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Danny Christian, Richard Holub, Bill Holub, T.C. Nors, Larry Holub and Willliam Huse.
