Frank Joseph Gerik, age 83, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2005 at his residence. Memorial graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cemetery near West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as officiating. Frank was born on July 1, 1922 in Elm Mott, the son of Max J. Gerik and Agnes (Soukup) Gerik. He graduated from LaVega High School in 1939 and attended 4-C Business College majoring in bookkeeping. He served his country in the United States Army during World Was II, where he was stationed in France. He married Mary Zaidle in 1952 in Dallas. She preceded him in death on November 7, 1959. Frank was a bookkeeper for the Milton Levy Plumbing Co. in Dallas for many years. He also worked as a tax consultant. Frank enjoyed reading and watching television. Frank was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Dallas. Survivors include a stepson, Lawrence Sonka of San Antonio; a stepdaughter, Betty Pippin of Arlington; two brothers, Raymond Gerik and wife Anne of Temple and Fred M. Gerik and wife Ruth of West; 6 step grandchildren' 7 step great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Parish Center.
