SSGT Frank I. Pospisil, USAF Ret., age 78, of West, passed away late Tuesday evening, September 14, 2010 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead, with Rev. Joel Boesche officiating. Military Rites will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday at Chapel Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum, conducted by Dyess Air Force Base Honor Guard. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Pospisil was born September 17, 1931 in Jarrell, the son of John and Frances (Stojanek) Pospisil. He attended schools in Bartlett and graduated from Bartlett High School before attending college in San Antonio. Frank served his country with the United States Air Force for over 20 years before retiring in 1970. He was stationed at such places as England, Alaska, New Mexico, San Antonio, and Laredo. Upon his retirement he worked for Temple Office Supply for several years. Frank enjoyed traveling and fishing and especially loved nature and wildlife. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. On September 11, 1998 he was united in marriage to Frances Earlene (Adair) Lewis in Waco. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Cowan; three brothers, John Pospisil, Jessie Pospisil and Joe Pospisil. Survivors include his wife, Earlene Pospisil of West; three daughters, Barbara Pospisil of Indiana, Frances Crain and husband Bill of Holland, and Holly Pospisil of Paige; two step sons, Dennis Adair and wife Donna of West and Mike Adair and wife Mary of Weister, Oklahoma; a brother, Dominic Pospisil and wife Joleen of Austin; two sisters, Mary Theriot of Austin and Georgia Dubec of Granger; nine grandchildren; a step grandson; 29 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fuzzy Friends.
