Frank "Frankie" Marek

February 20, 1932 — December 30, 2022

Frank G. "Frankie" Marek, age 90, of West, passed away early Friday morning, December 30, 2022 at West Rest Haven in West.


Graveside Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Closner Cemetery near West, with Chaplain Dennis Camp officiating. Military graveside rites will follow, conducted by West Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home.


Frankie was born February 20, 1932 in Abbott, the son of Frank and Mary (Dvorak) Marek. He attended the old Denton Hill School near West. On December 30, 1980 he was united in marriage to Callie Densman in Hillsboro. Callie preceded him in death on May 9, 2021. Frankie proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. Frankie was a member of the First United Church in West. He was the plant manager for West Egg Products for over 40 years. Frankie enjoyed listening to KHBR AM Radio, Country Music, whiskey with his lunch, fishing, gardening, farming, feeding the birds and all the neighborhood animals, and providing for his family. He was known as a very soft spoken gentleman who loved to work.


Frankie is also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald Marek; an infant son, Jeffrey Michael Marek; a stepson, Danny Harris; the mother of his children, Hana Marek Jackson; a brother, Edmund Marek; and sisters, Aline Kaluza, Leona Kral, and Helen Smith.


Survivors include his children, Robert "Bert" Marek and wife Becky of Dallas, Michael Marek and Ashley of West, Garry Marek and Lesley of West, Lisa Click and husband Paul of Savannah, GA, and Nadine Johnson and husband Randy of Moody; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Brown and husband Boy Shun Murry; a brother, Edwin Marek and wife Rosalie; two sisters, Mary Ann Hutyra and Shirley Willenborg and husband Jack; 21 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Closner Cemetery Association.
