Frances Emilie Jaska

Frances Emilie (Bezdek) Jaska, age 88, of Ross, passed away late Wednesday night, April 2, 2008 at a Hillsboro nursing home. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Saturday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Janice Kaluza, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Jaska was born March 2, 1920 the daughter of Vaclav and Annie (Zatopek) Bezdek in West. She attended St. Mary's School and West High School. On February 1, 1943 she was united in marriage to Louis B. Jaska in West. Together they owned and operated the Ross Cash Store from 1959 to 1983. Frances was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, where she sang with the P.T.C. Choir. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 829, K.J.Z.T. Society No. 11, and the Ross Home Demonstration Club. Frances enjoyed quilting, especially for all of her grandchildren; taking care of her plants; praying the Rosary on the swing at home; cooking; and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; and infant daughter, Mary Frances Jaska; and two brothers, Eddie Bezdek and Raymond Bezdek. Survivors include her beloved husband of 65 years, Louis B. Jaska; two sons, Raymond Jaska and wife Theresa and Pat Jaska and wife Kim all of Ross; four daughters, Barbara Langham and husband Wayne of Austin, Fran Richards and husband Larry of South Padre Island, Helen Boyse and husband Darren of Woodway, and Bernadette Jaska of Ross; a brother, Jim Bezdek and wife Rose of Denton; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer Cooper and husband Chris, Ray Jaska, John Jaska, Joe Jaska and wife Becky, Annie, Abby, and Nicholas Jaska, Alan Langham, Laura Langham, Trevor Richards and wife Tina, Vanessa Richards, and Alyssa Foitek; three great grandchildren, Zane, Reid, and Mason; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are Ray Jaska, John Jaska, Joe Jaska, Alan Langham, Zane Cooper, and Trevor Richards. Honorary pallbearers are Reid Cooper and Nicholas Jaska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund or St. Mary's Parish Center.
