Frances C. (Nors) Polansky, age 90, of West, passed away Monday evening, February 14, 2011 at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Polansky was born on November 3, 1920 in West, the daughter of Joe and Agnes (Kolar) Nors. She attended Brooken and Kirby schools in West and Hillsboro. On November 7, 1939, she was united in marriage to Adolf J. Polansky in West. Frances was a homemaker and helped her husband on their family farm. She loved to bake kolaches, listening to polka music, watching Wheel of Fortune, and working puzzles. She also enjoyed gardening and helping with her grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, K.J.Z.T. Society #11 St. Ludmila, and St. Mary's Altar Society. Frances is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Leo Polansky; a daughter, Lucille Annie Polansky; a son-in-law, Rudolph Matus; a grandson, Brian Polansky; two great grandchildren, Sara Suttle and Matthew Colbert; two brothers, Joe Nors and Edd Nors; and a sister, Hattie Kuyawa. Survivors include her beloved husband of 71 years, Adlof J. Polansky; two daughters, Helen Matus and Cathy Horton and husband Garry; five sons, Jerome Polansky and wife Emily, Anton Polansky and wife Beverly, Henry Polansky and wife Shirley, Charles Polansky and wife Theresa and Freddie Polansky and wife Debbie, all of West; five sisters, Josephine Zmolek of Forney, Agnes Hutyra of Mesquite, Irene Mach and husband Wesley, Margaret Girard and husband Ernest, all of Waxahachie, and Christine Bortnek of Dallas; 17 grandchildren, Patrick Matus and wife Vicki, Theresa Suttle and husband Jerry, Cecilia Colbert and husband Calvin, Paul Polansky and special friend, Juliann, Luke Polansky, Michelle Sing and husband Tommy, Sherry Janner and husband Matt, Mark Polansky and wife Landrah, Shelly Nors and husband Chris, Eric Polansky and wife Kelli, Brandon Polansky, Brooke Salinas and husband Saul, Jacob Polansky, Colton Polansky, Zachary Horton, Ethan Horton, and Maci Horton; 16 great grandchildren, David, Kyle, Madeleine, Sophia, Lexie, Haley, Troy, Braden, Avery, Alexis, Skyler, Jaydyn, McKinlee, Caisen, Meghan, and one on the way, Harper Lily; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Patrick Matus, Mark Polansky, Eric Polansky, Paul Polansky, Zachary Horton, and Jacob Polansky. In lieu of flowers,memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund, St. Mary's School Endowment Fund, or the charity of your choice.
