Felix Roman Picha, age 77, of Waco, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, September 19, 2017 at his residence. A rosary will be recited 4:00 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellmead, with visitation to follow until 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Albert Capello Ruiz as celebrant. Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. Felix was born November 18, 1939, in West, the son of the late John Joseph and Margaret Agnes (Grones) Picha. He attended schools in Abbott and was a 1958 graduate of Abbott High School. On April 29, 1961, Felix was united in marriage to Bernice Ann Pustejovsky in Abbott. He worked as a sheet metal contractor for over 50 years in the heating and air conditioning industry. Felix was a loyal member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellmead for over 50 years, serving as an Extraordinary Minister, Altar Server, and prayer of Adoration Chapel. He and Bernice were awarded the Lumen Gentium Award by the Diocese of Austin in 2017. Felix was a charter member of Knights of Columbus Council #7202 and served on the Board of Directors of Geneva Hall. He served on the School Board for Connally ISD and was a member of the Cadets' Football Chain Gang. Felix was coordinator for Meals on Wheels in the tri-city area of Waco. He was a member of the National Guard. Felix was an avid sports fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren and attending all their sports and school events. Felix did water aerobics at Doris Miller YMCA and enjoyed playing softball with KC's. He loved playing dominoes, taroky, gardening, hunting, the outdoors, yard work, and many family gatherings and trips. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Bernice Picha of Waco; children, Theresa Anderson and husband Clifford of Waco, Kathy Haas and husband Rudolf of The Woodlands, James Picha and wife Ann of DeSoto, Stephen Picha and wife Mary Jo of Albuquerque, NM and Carol VanBeek and husband Martin of Clovis, NM; brothers, George Picha and wife Gladys, Albin Picha, Robert Picha and wife JoAnn; sisters, Jean Ward and Margie Featherston and husband Jack; grandchildren, Jeffrey Anderson and wife Colby, Jenny Parsons and husband Stuart, Julia Haas, Tyler Anderson, Aaron Picha, Karl Haas, Katie Picha, Grace Picha, Evan VanBeek, Luke Picha and Caleb VanBeek; great grandchildren, Jax, Jake, Remi and Parker; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are his grandsons, Jeffrey Anderson, Tyler Anderson, Shane Anderson, Cody Anderson, Aaron Picha, Karl Haas, Evan VanBeek, Luke Picha and Caleb VanBeek. Honorary pallbearers are member of Knights of Columbus Council #7202 of Bellmead. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund.
