Fay (Goldsmith) Wilcox Helleson, age 80, of West, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 1, 2012 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Gholson, with Rev. James Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Fay was born February 15, 1932 in West, the daughter of Leonard Otis and Gladys (Crabb) Goldsmith, Sr. She attended schools in West, graduating from West High School in 1948. Fay then received her Associate of Arts Degree from Hill Jr. College in 1950. On June 25, 1950 she was united in marriage to Joseph D. "JD" Wilcox in West. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1976. Fay then married Tommy A. Helleson on May 27, 1978. Fay worked as a bookkeeper for several area businesses for a number of years. She coached softball and was also a Girl Scout leader. Fay was a former member of First Baptist Church of West, and more recently a member of First Baptist Church of Gholson. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids and the many activities they were involved in. Fay is also preceded in death by her parents; a step-daughter, Charlotte Green; a great granddaughter, Tori Gordon; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia "Trish" Wilcox. Survivors include her husband Tommy A. Helleson of West; a son, Jimmy Wilcox and girlfriend Barbara Dalton of Oglesby; three daughters, Linda Cassady-Byrom and husband Graham of Millsap, Cindy Charanza and husband Johnny of Ross, and Janis Wilcox of West; a step-son, Phillip "Chuck" Foreman of Ft. Worth; two brothers, Otis Goldsmith Jr. and wife June of Cherry Valley, CA, and Marvin R. Goldsmith and wife Naida of Waco; a sister, Iris Faglie of Burleson; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Joey Charanza, Jeff Fryer, Chris Klaus, Chris Dulock, Tracy Fryer, Bobby Neill, Ron Goldsmith and Lee Goldsmith. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Gholson Building Fund.
