Fay Grellhesl, age 98, of West, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 24, 2013 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with visitation to follow at 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home with Rev. Boniface Onjefu officiating. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery near Tours. Fay was born July 30, 1915 in Hill County, the daughter of Richard and Henrietta (Glenn) Middlebrook. She attended the old Alligator School near West. On March 15, 1940, she was united in marriage to Anton Grellhesl. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1974. Fay was a farmer and worked as a dietitian for West Community Hospital for several years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Fay was a volunteer for West Rest Haven and Meals-On-Wheels. She enjoyed crocheting, doing yard work, traveling and tending to her animals. Fay is also preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, twin Robert Ray Middlebrook, James Luther Middlebrook, Tommy Middlebrook and Raymond J. Middlebrook. Survivors include several nieces and nephews, including James Middlebrook of West and Rose Swank and husband Jerry of Elm Mott; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Melvin Frost, Kenneth Swank, Robert Middlebrook, Ervin Middlebrook Jr., Billy Sparks and Emanuel Mitchell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Volunteer Ambulance Association.
