Byron Farris Williams, Sr. age 82, of West, passed away Tuesday morning, December 31, 2013 at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Prairie Grove Cemetery near Aquilla, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Mr. Williams was born September 25, 1931 in Shirley, AR the son of William and Ada (Hensley) Williams. He graduated from Trousdale High School in Trousdale, OK in 1950 and attended Texas State Technical College and Baylor University. Farris served his country as a military police officer for the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On January 23, 1954, he was united in marriage to Patsy Harris in West. He was a police officer for several years and was a supervisor for International Paper Company for over 20 years. He also worked for Copper Technology until his retirement in 2003. Farris enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his dog Annie. Farris is preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Eric Williams; a son-in-law, Michael Eachus; two brothers, Billy Williams and Lloyd Williams; and a sister, Dana Smith. Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Patsy Williams of West; two sons, Byron Williams Jr. and Mark Williams and wife Pam, all of West; four daughters, Vicki Vochoska and husband Steve and Ada Green, all of West, Becky Jo Tobola and husband James of Hewitt and Teresa King and husband Dan of Elm Mott; two brothers, Myron Williams and wife Christina and Boyd Williams and wife Cordelia; four sisters, Linda Pruitt and husband Glenn, Phyllis Simmons and husband Bob, Gail Haynes and Ruth Crouch; 14 grandchildren, Christopher, Cory and Austin Williams, Nathan Spires, Kayla Stroven and husband Brian, Brian Vochoska and fianc Leigh Ann Najar, Charidy Trevino and husband Florencio, James Nathan Tobola, Jana Macelyea and husband Leon, Keri Green, Alex Green, Haley King, Rachel King and Whitney Brummell; 12 great grandchildren, Heather, Brycen, Alena, Zion, Nila, Brianna, Keagan, Jadyn, Jordyn, Zaylee, Aydin and Kazen; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tokio Baptist Church.
