Fanny Louise Barnes, age 80, of Gholson, fondly known by many as "Grandma Catfish", passed away early Wednesday afternoon, January 21, 2015 in Waco, with her loving family by her side. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Fanny was born April 4, 1934 in Gholson, the youngest of four children to Buford Lee and Lilly Mae (McCartney) Eastwood. She attended schools in West. A true love story began August 3, 1950 when she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Bobby "Bob" Clyde Barnes. Happily married for 64 years, they raised four children in the small town of Gholson. Fanny loved her children and her family with all of her heart. Fanny was a homemaker and a cook for the Gholson School. She also worked for Behrens Drug, Certainteed and Terry's Travel Trailers. Fanny loved the outdoors, where she enjoyed gardening and fishing at the river with her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends. She also enjoyed country music, telling stories and the company of all. Fanny was an amazing cook and took pride knowing that no one ever left her home with an empty stomach. She also loved the color yellow in flowers, plants and butterflies. Fanny is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James Lee Eastwood and Aubrey Gene Eastwood. Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Bobby "Bob" Clyde Barnes; four children, Gay Brink and husband Ronnie of Waco, Bobby "Kim" Barnes and wife Michelle of Tokio, Rhonda Adamson and husband Monte, and Angela Adamson and husband Mark, all of Gholson; grandchildren, Crystal Mooney-Klepper and husband Joseph, Dawn White, Amber Snider and husband Rusty, Justin Brink and wife Lisa, Cory Adamson and wife Amber, Melanie Taylor and husband Terry Jr., Lena Cheatham and husband Shane, Sarah Reyes and husband Julian, Jacob Barnes, Jamie Adamson, Amanda Adamson, Kyle Barnes and Britney Adamson; great grandchildren, Cody, Anna, Ashley, Kaley, Eva, Ariel, Brian Jr., Jade, Camden, Isaac, Ronnie III, Brett, Hagen, Gavin, Michael III, Aiden, Caydence, Karley, Landon, Chloe, Gage, Derrick Jr., Ryder and Paisley; great great granddaughters, Annabella and Braelynne; her twin sister, Patsy Sterling; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gholson Volunteer Fire Department.
