Fannie (Lowe) Vaughan, age 91, of West, passed away Wednesday evening, April 16, 2008 at Brookhaven Nursing Home in Carrollton. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West with Vernon Steitz officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Vaughan was born on December 4, 1916 near West, the daughter of Guss and Tennie (Cox) Lowe. She attended school in Tokio. On December 22, 1933, she was united in marriage to Horace Cecil Vaughan. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1984. Fannie was a seamstress for Haggar Slack Company in Waxahachie, Holt Manufacturing Co., Fab-Knit and the Lomas Pulley Upholstery, all in Waco until her retirement in 1975. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the Tokio Baptist Church. She is also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Don Vaughan; one brother, Guss Lowe, Jr.; and two sisters, Dorothy Walker and Margaret Powell. Survivors include one son, Doug Vaughan and wife Linda of Grapevine; two brothers, Kenneth Lowe of Whitney and Dean Lowe of West; one sister, Edith Deal of Irving; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are Kenneth Lowe, Dean Lowe, Kenneth Vaughan, Ronnie Cowan, Vernon Steitz, and Doug Vaughan. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
