Evelyn Mary (Girard) Gajdosik, age 96, of West, passed away early Saturday morning, August 6, 2016 at Regent Care Center in Woodway. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki and Rev. Paul Hudson as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Evelyn was born April 4, 1920 in West, the daughter of Frank and Rosie (Vavra) Girard. She attended Ross school. On November 18, 1941 she was united in marriage to Jerry J. Gajdosik in West. Jerry preceded her in death on August 15, 1997. Evelyn was a Mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of the KJZT Society #11. She enjoyed playing bingo, gambling, cooking, canning and gardening. Evelyn is also preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Delores Gajdosik; a grandson, Gary Stone; brothers, Daniel Girard and Rudolph Girard; and sisters, Marguerite Rauschuber, Lucille Hessel and Rosalie Cinek. Survivors include children, Jerryline Holacka and husband James of Dallas Wilford C. Gajdosik and wife Joyce of Denton and Elizabeth Scheffer and husband John of Robinson; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Gajdosik; grandchildren, Stephanie Smelscer and husband Blaine, Darlene Kirby, Janet Dodson and Darren Stone and wife Christie; great grandchildren, Elliott Smelscer, Noah Smelscer, Bruce Hendershot, Blake Hendershot, Christina Durcan, Erin Dodson, Brandon Dodson, Cynthia Stone and Aaron Stone; 7 great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Blaine Smelscer, Robert Hessel, Frank Cinek, Darren Stone, Edward Rauschuber and Tony Houston. Honorary pallbearers are Elliott and Noah Smelscer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or West Rest Haven Disaster Relief Fund.
