Evelyn Kunetka

Evelyn (Jerabek) Kunetka, age 94, of Georgetown, formerly of West, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 in Round Rock.

Memorial Graveside Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024 at St. Mary's Cemetery near West.

Evelyn was born October 13, 1929 in West, the daughter of Emil and Marie (Nemecek) Jerabek. She was a 1947 graduate of West High School prior to receiving her bachelor's degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. She was united in marriage to Robert Kunetka and he preceded her in death on October 5, 2013. Evelyn was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a registered nurse and worked for many places around the Houston area including MD Anderson Cancer Hospital, Robert E. Lee High School, and AstroWorld. Evelyn enjoyed painting and attending art classes.

Evelyn is also preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Clara Carter.

Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Nichols of North Richland Hills; many cousins including, Jeanette Karlik of West; her nieces, Susan Jones and husband Lloyd of Georgetown, Patti George and husband Art of Granbury, Jan Laine and husband Mike of Bryan, and Kay Avett of North Richland Hills; a nephew, Mike Carter and wife Jennifer of Austin; and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery Association.
